Buying electronics from Thailand

Hi,

Can you guys please tell me where one could get cheap (Pricewise..not quality) electronics (including PC related stuff) in Thailand..as well as what kind of stuff is cheaper there..

Most of the stuff that you will get in Bangkok will be US prices + 10%. There is a mall in downtown Bangkok called Pantip... all taxi drivers know where it is... thats you best place for buying everything from processors to plasma tvs.
 
Also try out MBK. The bangkok sky train takes you there. Plenty of vendors so plenty of competition to sell :D
 
MBK is walking distance from Pantip Plaza.

But you wouldnt need to go there. Pantip has EVERYTHING. Honestly, you can spend two ful days just checking out ALL the shops.
 
Well How about bringing Big 40" LCD from there ?

How about airport charges, customs & taxes in India.. How safe it can be :)
 
most of the shops you will want to check out are on groundfloor...

the range is huge there but i found prices for mid-range hardware within 10% of indian prices

so better go for hi-end stuff and whats not available here like cooling kits, gx2, cabbys

well a person i know has bought a 46inch lcd from thailand,even after paying customs it was still cheaper then the grey market.
 
well ,adder, what do you think about sony in india. i have a sony tv labeled made in thailand. what about its quality. some say if it is labeled made in thailand it is not worthy. do sony realy have a factroy in thailand.

sony only assembles them in thailand,with worldwide component OEM providers,lcds panels are sourced from taiwan or S.korea.even the sony lcd plastic bezel is again souced from someone else.sony tvs sold in india are either imported from thailand or malayasia,quality control will be the same.
 
* Panthip Plaza on Petchburi road, almost opposite the Amari Watergate Hotel.

* Fortune Plaza which is on Ratchada Road next to Param 9 subway station.

* Another Panthip Plaza on Rattanathibet Road close to The Mall Ngam Wong Wan.

* you can also try the computer mall in Rangsit.

i think you should better go there & look for what you asked for first then ask them where you can find clothes & etc

Thanx a lot guys for the suggestions. Was really helpful. Found some decent deals at the panthip plaza and thats about it. A little bit of searching and bargaining at that place could get one a sweet deal.

Thats all I want to add to the above.
