Buying from rediff ?

Anyone got any experience dealing with rediff and what was the experience like ?
 
Stay away from Rediff & Indiatimes. I purchased a 2 Gig Pen drive from them which i got after 3-4 weeks & to my surprise i got a 1 gig Pen drive. And returning it getting refund was big headache..... Alot of people have similar experience with this two Shopping portal.......

I would suggest to buy from Sify. Indiaplaza was the quickest in terms of delivery got my product within 20 hours after placing the order.........
 
rediff ... hmm . . . u'll have to wait long time to get your stuff from there.

the cust care is extremely slow (~2-3days for responce)
 
Absolutely stay away from rediff! They are big chors! I had ordered a keyboard and they sent me some cheap chinese binoculars..After continous complaints for 10 days, I gave up. The binoculars are still with me if anybodys interested :P
 
I would suggest u buy the Cam from gray market u will get it much cheaper than the price on Rediff. And the page states Warranty - 6 months vendors warranty. Which makes this a Gray market product............
 
I have bought quite a few things from rediff when it was managing the whole show. It was very good. But after they opened up their shop for every tom dick and harry to sell things, it has gone hopeless. Just cant be certain what you will get.

I have bought things from rediff and indiatimes in last 6months, and both have been bad experiences. Dont know about sify, but Indiaplaza was good quite a while back when I used to buy things for my folks from US. Dont know how it is right now.
 
I bought few items from Rediff. Two of them got shipped and I got them after a few days. The courier company didnt have service in my area so I had to go and collect it from their Office. Anyway the third item was shipped and I got a tracking number. But I didnt get the item even after two weeks. When I mailed them they said the package was returned saying there was no service in the area. So then I sent them an alternate address in Cochin. Again they said they wont be able to ship it cause there is no service. Im pretty sure almost every courier company will have service in Cochin. They were using Aramex btw and I knew they had service.

Anyway they kept saying No service etc etc and the Rediff rep said she will refund the money. I finally agreed and asked to refund. To my amazement I got the item delivered a few days after and after few more days I got the REFUND also.Rediff rocks!!!
 
I have purchased from rediff,sify,indiatimes and indiaplaza.I havent experienced any problems with any of them.

Even i would suggest you to buy the cam from your local grey mkt.Coz you will get the product for cheaper price and you can even ckeck it b4 you purchase. :-)
 
go get it from your local grey market...far better service than rediff

Of the lot, indiaplaza/gadgets.in seem to be decent

Some people have had good experience with sifymall too, but rediff/indiatimes are best stayed away from
 
I've had torrid experiences with Sify and rediff.

IMO, Futurebazaar is the best indian shopping site. Indiaplaza is decent as well
 
Indiaplaza is also not all that good, but better than rediff anytime. (I have been shopping with these sites for the past few years). Indiaplaza is better than all the shopping sites in India, but not all perfect. This situation is due to the third party vendors used by these sites.

In your case you can get the camera from local grey market, it must be cheaper.
 
rediff = stay away.. but it mostly depends on the seller.. Btw, the choice of Camera is also not good either. Sony Dcr - Trv 480 is old, you're better off buyin DCR HC 38..
 
stay away from rediff.ordered a mosquito repeller 3 weeks back.hav'nt yet got it.should hav bought the same thing from indiaplaza.they deliver within 3-4 days.
