Hi fellas,

My current key-board have failed and some keys of it have stopped giving response. I would like to buy a new one but need a durable one along with soft in typing. I generally game using arrow keys and not using W-S-A-D keys. My max budget is 1000. I do not need fancy buttons on it however backlit is bonus in this 1000 bucks.

Regards.

Oops yeah forgot, I bought the combo, my friend took the mouse and me the keyboard, mine is still in brand new condition but have no time to ship it..

Good luck finding a keyboard!!

If mechanical keyboard is your thing then there is nothing like tvs gold. Though it will exceed your budget a little but still do consider it.

I am using one and can't think of using any other keyboard except this one.

How much noise does it make ? I was considering it but read on net that key presses makes quite loud noise.

Noise is due to the mechanical nature of switches, initially you will feel that it is making that stupid typewriter kind of noise but afterwards you will appreciate that noise as a tactile feedback.

It is ok as far as you are not working in a sensitive environment i.e. ideal for home.

How good is it for general but mid-heavy use ? Any specialty of Mechanical apart from Durability ?

This keyboard is what I bought for Rs. 1200 and am currently using.

Thanks but not considering wireless at the moment

It is better to have mechanical keyboard if your usage is on the heavier side as it will increase the speed and accuracy.
Overall typing experience is much better on these ones.

These last a lot longer 50 million plus keystrokes as opposed to around 1 million-10 million on a membrane keyboard.

FPS gaming is not a pain na ? with arrow keys.

Considering TVS E Gold. In office saw one keyboard kept with a non-running CPU, will swap tomorrow and get a feel. Any good deal on it anywhere, around 1300-1400 max ? I m getting it least for 1640 on eBay after applying coupons.

Also will there be any other competitor to this in this price range ?

I play FPS only :p

Mostly use W-A-S-D keys and my deathadder mouse, so there won't be any problem with arrow keys. Just snap it as the prices are increased everywhere.

So finalising this one for 1640 from eBay. Tomorrow will use this at office and will test it thoroughly.

Thanks for the help everyone.:)[DOUBLEPOST=1371700583][/DOUBLEPOST]

Damn prices hiked by another 100 bucks , costing now 1830 :dead:.

Any other suggestions ?

Edit: found a deal on OLX for 2-3 years used keyboard in good condition and in black color but in PS2, asking price is 400.

You can try at your area's local dealers, as in nehru place ps/2 version costs around ~1550 and usb version goes for around ~1650.

That is a good deal imo

In Lemington Road need to find it out once m back to Mumbai. Right now I m in Ahmedabad and this 400 deal is here.

Using this keyboard at office from yesterday, typing is breeze. Just that sound is bit annoying but it should compensate for the durability and speed.
