Hi Guys,

My friend's former lappy HP Pavillion DV6-2020AX, have gone kaput.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=4085298

He generally used lappy for extensive gaming, without caring cooling of lappy base.

SC guys said that motherboard has gone and they can replace it with new one @ 18000rs.

I am unable to understand why its so costly and it should be advisable to get it fixed?

Also If somebody is having spare parts of HP Pavillion DV6-2020AX laptop then let me know, reference will also be appreciated....

Regards
Haris

I am also interested in buying new one, but budget is concern.
I think I have to sell it in spare parts, as HP SC confirmed that Ram, processor and HDD are fine, only mobo is faulty.
So thinking to sell them and get some money.[DOUBLEPOST=1375345041][/DOUBLEPOST]
It's motherboard should not be that costly, can you check with these guys:

HP DV models are known problem makers, there is a well known issue with their GPU connectors.
This the quote given by HP Service Center including motherboard and repairing/fixing charges.
Even they took 2000rs for the complete inspection which confirms mobo is faulty.

Edit: Just checked, rajgurucomputers don't have any center in Delhi/NCR :(

If I remember correct, they (rajguru) told a new motherboard may cost around 8K. My motherboard only required some 'baking' process, paid less than 4K, am sure. Hope you will find a good third part laptop repairing guy in your area who can help. Though they have infamous known issues with nVidia chipset boards, these laptops are good, can sell wholesome at a better price after repairs ?
