buying the right laptop !

hi all.

i just wanted to get adivce on buying the laptop. my father needs one which basically can cover his needs. i am gonna pinpoint the uses .

1. he teaches in university

2. needs a laptop which can make word , ppt excel documents.

3. no game and no movies

4. sound system a bit good but not compulsory.

5. basic work like emailing and surfing the web and all

6. atleast core 2 duo with ram 2gb

7. no weight restriction

8. battery 3 to 4 hours

so to sum that up a laptop is needed to run microsoft office. little multi-tasking ( like opening word and ppt at same time) kinda office work thingy. i hope i explained all the needs. feedback will be really appreciated and thanks in advance.

well for budget u can basically take around $445 USD . size can be average but anything greater then 14' would be appreicated. thanks for replying though.
