Actually, they were already negotiating with Reliance during the auction and were asked to bid higher to get a pan India license.

^ Qualcomm aren't the responsible for LTE. Seeing major providers world over agreeing to LTE as a global standard, they had little option other than nod their head. They are however interested in a slightly different implementation of the LTE which is being heavily disputed.

Qualcomm is a major driving force for TD-LTE !

I never even mentioned TD LTE!!! I was talking about LTE in general.

The standard that the major companies have agreed to (FDD UMTS based, operating on a 700 Mhz frequency) is DIFFERENT from the one Qualcomm has been proposing (TDD 1900+ Mhz).
