Byond is a new entrant into the already populated smartphones and tablet market in India. Enter Byond Phablet PIII, a 6" smartphone which is a confused Phablet-Tablet hybrid. Earlier, Byond had launched their Mi-Book series of tablets and now we have a 6" phablet from the same company. Let's take a closer look at what it packs under the hood.
Byond Phablet PIII

The Byond Phablet PIII is a huge device. 6" is no joke. The 4.7" devices become hard to handle, Note at 5.3" or 5.5" are two handed operation devices and now we have 6". This is really a confused smartphone unable to decide whether it wants to be a phablet or a tablet. On the other hand, this device will cater well to people who are confused between the same. That or they really have large hands. Let's check out it's internal specs.

Byond Phablet PIII Specifications

  • 1 GHz Dual Core CPU
  • unknown RAM
  • 6" FWVGA (854*480) capacitive display
  • Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) active standby
  • 8 MP rear camera, LED flash
  • VGA front facing camera
  • expandable storage up to 32 GB via micro SD card
  • 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
  • 11.3 mm thickness
  • 2,500 mAh battery
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS

The hybrid packs decent internal specifications. The battery is small for a 6" phone. The resolution is really low, but higher than those WVGA display packing 7" tablets. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is welcome aboard. RAM content is unknown, we really hope it's 1 GB because of the device's asking price.
Byond Phablet PIII Price in India

The Byond Phablet PIII will cost Rs. 14,499 on arrival and be available from popular online portals such as Flipkart. At that price, we have to think that it's a bit too much for what the device packs. The value proposition of this device is slightly low. If it were around Rs. 11,-000 to Rs. 12,000 we would be more inclined to give a positive for buying it. At this price, it really isn't the best bang for buck. You can have a look at the cheaper (and bigger Brand) Karbonn A30 as well.
