Hi,

I need an entry/mid level cabinet plus PSU for 6-7k max.

My Current Config is:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200
RAM: 4GB DDR2
GRAPHICS: Nvidia GeForce 9500GT 1GB

I have shortlisted following:

1. Corsair Carbide 200R
2. Bitfenix Merc Alpha

For PSU:
1. Corsair VS450
2. Corsair CX430

Also I need to know, will my APC BackUPS 600VA will be able to handle these PSUs or not?

I am open to any other suggestions but budget should not exceed.

Thanks.

Go for the Corsair VS450.The CX430 is not as good as this one due to the VS450 being 80 PLUS certified i.e. it gives AC-DC conversion efficiency of more than 80%.

As to the APC 600VA rest assured as I run a VX550 equipped main rig and an ATOM powered rig simultaneously on this UPS.Don't expect more than 30 mins of backup though.

As to the case I am not that upto the date in terms of info but the Carbide 200R seems a bit better to me considering Corsair's build to last feel.

I have the Elite 430 which is an older version of this one but I would stay away from the low -end CM PSUs.Have heard a lot of horror stories.

Better go with the first combo.

Avoid the combo deals, both PSUs are no good.
Both cabbies are about 3k, which leaves you another 3k for the PSU. Since your system config looks light, the CX430 should be ok. If you're looking at an upgrade in the future, then for about 3.6k you can get either the Coolermaster GX450 or the Seasonic S12II 430.

Its the other way round. The VS450 is not 80 plus certified.
And the CX430 is better. Corsair themselves position the CX430 higher than the VS450.

Damn .I was thinking the old VX series again which I have myself.Seems like I am a bit rusty at this now.

^ Yeah the VX has been discontinued for quite some time now, and the similar sounding VS is confusing a lot of buyers and dealers.
In terms of performance : VX > CX > VS

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I finally bought Corsair Carbide 200R plus Corsair CX430 PSU. I am happy with the purchase. The PSU is really silent and cool and working well with my current UPS.
