Pioneer (109D/108D), BenQ (1610/1620) n LG (4163B) are better than LiteON. atleast thats the general consesus around the community. U get a 16x burner for as low as 4k (perhaps even lower).
U can get an additional external optical drive casing for about 1000~1200 bucks and put in ur optical drive or HDD in it and make it a mobile drive. U'll need an extra 220V AC outlet to connect the external drive (optical/HDD) to the PC thru USB. A friend has a DVD-ROM on his laptop (in-built) and an external CD-RW. But he says he cant make a CD-CD copy, dunno why though. Mostly his is an isolated case, but u better check with others b4 u decide.
