I hate distros as they have issues when you want to install Snow Leopard updates. Go here for the retail method as you have a proper SL disc: tonymacx86 Blog: iBoot + MultiBeast: Install Mac OS X on any Intel-based PC

This method is tried and test and works well! Good luck :)

Edit: Dual boot is not an issue as you'll install the chameleon bootloader which will let you choose the OS you want to boot into. However, big caveat being that you need to install SL on a different hard disk because of partitioning issues.

so hardware is not a problem these days.. I mean will all of my hardware be detected if I go by the link mentioned..

I am trying snow leopard in vmware as of now.. will try the one you mentioned as well later on..

anyone here who tried installing snow leopard on Thinkpad or T410 to be specific.

Nah, you may need to install separate drivers, called kernel extensions or kexts for short, on the mac for your LAN, sound, S-ATA controller and graphics card. That's the big issue with going the retail disc SL (also called boot132) way. However, as I mentioned earlier, big advantage being that you can install OS updates without a hiccup.
