maybe if quite a few people are interested we could split the cost or summin ?:bleh:

also any word of hard copy availability would be good.

BTW guys greedy sonyindia has just jacked up the prices of their DSLRs A200 which used to cost 24990 is now 27990:@ the prices have increased for all sony dslrs in india.they decreased the PS3 price from 24900 to 22900 which they MIGHT sell at a loss, while jack up the prices of DSLRS in india.:@

is anybody interested in the book ,already have one person interested in the same resulting in half the cost any more would be better.......

Its indeed a very good book, Although mine is the A300/350 version I bought it for around 20$ when i bought my Sony A300 back in July last year.

Hmmm. To be frank, I am sure the book would be very descriptive and all but I am not sure how much value it would add when compared to simply browsing online and learning techniques.

The only big difference from the A200 and the Canikon systems would be the Wireless flash system which you won't be using anyway. Apart from that everything that applies for any dSLR applies to the A200/300/350 or any other SLR. Only the control layout would change but you don't really need a book to tell u to "turn the dial on the right to change aperture", it just needs to say "decrease the aperture". :)

All I'm saying is that learning photography techniques is camera-model independent (except for specific things like Wireless flash)...so why buy?

Just a thought.

PS: I do own an A300. :)

well to answer that , gathering information from online n around is a time consuming process and would not ensure that most information would be acquired

also this book has got very very good reviews and is a must for any a200 owner and his writing style and explanation makes it easy for even first timers to digital photography thus the inclination to buy it , why don't you check out the links Ive mentioned in the first post to give you a picture about it

^^ I know the book man, the Sony SLR DPR Forum has a lot of fans of it. :) I learnt wireless flash techniques from that site.

Anyway, I guess a book is good fun out on the field too. You can take it along and learn while shooting. Have fun!
