I had bought a Sony digi cam from Alfa 2 years back. I didn't use it this summer and when now it doesn't start. I tried with new batteries, rechargeable cells etc. and it still doesn't start. Anyone know where i can get this problem fixed?

I was asked whether I had kept it unused for long which was true. I was also told that proximity to sea also accelerates failure. But I had always kept it in an airtight transparent jar and the lens is still free from fungus. Their charge is 4.5K and I am wondering whether it is worth it!

OT: same thing happens to phones (with caller ids) - the strip cables invariably stop functioning when the phones are kept unused for a long time.
