PC Peripherals Can DDR2-533 MHz modules co-exist with DDR2-800 MHz?

make sue ur board allows 3 modules at a time or not.
some of the am2 boards i have used do not allow.

check ur tota physical memory usage in vista when u use only 2GB on dual channel.
if vista doesnt cross ~1000MB at idle then i donot think u will ever need another GB for all those apps running simultaneously.
if u still put the 3rd module...the performance will be dropped as u will not only loose the dual channel bt also will b down to 533MHz.

Vista 32 with SP1 sees all 4gbs and also XP SP3 also supports 3 gb ram..

I guess it only sees the RAM above 3 GB.

Coz, AFAIK 32-bit architecture cannot utilise anything above 3/3.5 GB.

BTW, I'll be discarding my old RAMs now and will be putting in 4 Sticks of 1 GB each of DDR2-800 Mhz ram. :D

Order TWO more sticks.

For NO Gaming and ONLY internet/business apps/multimedia use? :O

No offense mate, but thats like....wayyyyyyyyy overkill fo rthe use u use ur system for :bleh:

ya seriously.

1st check how much physical memory is being utilised at the moment....

if it doesnt reach limits of what u already have then u probably donot need any more. it will be shear waste of resources.

save those 2k for ur next upgrade instead.
