Can I connect an apple watch to android

I switched to Android but when I went to the Samsung store to buy the Watch 7 I almost vomited. The UI is so damn laggy I thought I have a Samsung Guru Keypad phone in hand. Will get a 2nd hand iPhone just for the Apple Watch.
I know, you can’t explain this to people whose life is spent in comparing two products from gsmarena and not really using them. Let them live in their own fantasy world.

Tbh it sounds typical apple hogwash in the name of user experience or whatever without mentioning any specific features function etc ,but I won't turn this into ios vs android discussion , to each it's own i guess , as long as the user is happy and willing to pay premium it shouldn't bother anyone :) , my only complaint always have been locking people into ecosystem not that watch itself , if u buy a piece of hardware u shud be able to use it whichever way you want with whichever phone..

Either way I'll always buy watches that aid my workouts better so I'll always prefer garmins i think, but yeah everyone has a different purpose and I think they work with both os ? ( I've only tried em on android so far.. )
Apple has a miles better sensor in their watches, which actually comes pretty close to (and even surpasses in some tests) Garmin while preserving all the integrations that you would expect of an Android/Apple watch, honestly speaking, if Apple ever relaxes their OS restrictions or allows Android to pair with Apple Watch, I would be the first one to line up to buy one, that shit is good, one of the few products from Apple that I can wholeheartedly support.
If I remember correctly, Garmin works but Apple nerfs some capabilities like notification control which otherwise work on Android. Which makes sense for them since they want the Apple Watch to feel most natural in the ecosystem.
yep, even in Android, Garmin integration is pretty basic, Samsung Watch Series have a pretty nifty integration but their sensors suck ass, same with Pixel watch.

So no mention of any specific features or uses ? Thought so..

Can you explain what you mean by sensors ? garmin is better across the board in terms of fitness tracking for most parts but it is close now..

Besides , android has plethora of options but ofcourse if you compare s 30k apple watch to 2k android ofcourse it will be lacking, features wise android watches have way more features , design wise apple watches ares still great, at this point there's isnt much in it other than personal preference, only thing being in one case u are locked to a ecosystem and God forbid u want to shift to android ur 30k watch turns into a paper weight ,it's pretty much anti consumerism and not something that I would ever support personally .

The Quantified Scientist is hands down the reviewer when it comes to wearables, go check out his channel and see accuracy comparisons for various workout routines, step counting, location tracking, heartrate monitoring etc. Even if you compare Galaxy Watch Ultra (thats the most expensive one right?), it will still fall short of apple watches even a couple generation old in accuracy tests, thats how bad the accuracy is and Samsung/Google are doing sub-par efforts to bring it upto par.

Apple Watch's main USP atleast for me is Garmin level accuracy but the integration of a proper smartwatch, and like I said, if Apple ever relaxes their iOS restrictions or allows Apple Watch to integrate with Android, I'll be the first one to buy it though I'm pretty sure Hell has a better chance of freezing over before Apple does anything thats remotely pro-consumer

even Ultra had laggy UI? I' havent used 7 personally and have second hand experience with a friend's Ultra, but I didnt find the UI to lag much if at all, but then I have no experience in smart watches so cant comment more
