I wanna get a credit card. I can easily pay back the credit card bills as I transfer 20-25k monthly from parent's net banking account. But the problem is that I'm not salaried and don't file ITR. I wanna get a new iPhone but can't withdraw 60k at once from dad's account due to him knowing I do it. Last time I spoke with a HDFC salesman in a mall, he said I can apply for a HDFC credit card as "self employed" and specify my "hostel fee" as income from bank statements. I followed his method but my credit card wasn't approved because I had before within 6 months. Is there any other way to do it? I desperately wanna get a credit card for buying a new iPhone

Take my advice, talk to your dad about your desire to own an iPhone. If he sees fit he will buy it for you instead of you trying to find a workaround which isn't appearing to be convincing by any margin. Besides what are you trying to do? Spend more money than what you get and you penalize your dad by making him liable for your desires without him knowing about it?

If you are genuinely interested on the purchase and if you think your dad wont be disappointed at you spending so much, you should infact save from what you get and buy when u have enough money.

Credit cards arent shortcuts for money crisis, they are shortcuts for being in debt. And in this case, its not even you but your father.

Credit card can be obtained also through 6 months Fixed deposit [Credit Card against Fixed Deposit] Without ITR and salary.

As for buying an iPhone, you could use your own money for Downpayment and get a 35-45k credit from bajaj EMI. I got it long back when i had no salary.

Convince any friend who has CC that you'll repay in shortest time with Interest more than billed to the nearest round figure

As @swatkats said - best is to take a CC against FD of 1 lac INR. Else, get a supplementary card.

Ensure you do repay on time though. Also, I believe you should have a PAN.

Why don't we just close these threads instead of offering any advice? And later when these people still go and cause non-sense people blame "the internet" for being a bad influence!!! As a kid I used to have a "rationed" internet usage only because of such people who were famous then too amongst parent communities!! :S

What you're doing is fraud. It's your'e parents fault for not bringing you up properly. If I was your father, I would have changed the password long time back.
Grow up. Get a job and then spend money from your own salary account instead of stealing your parents money.

We at TE, don't encourage stealing and stuff for gaining something.

What i suggested is proper way to get things done, Even i had no salary and wanted to buy few things and even the circumstances then were similar but never take the short route, Take help of Friends CC and buy off.

Woah - I did not read it that way. Pretty sure the assumption was that you were getting a sort of lump sum every month for expenses, and you are saving by skimping on essentials like we all did when we were younger.

I would not recommend you to get a card now, nor should you ideally borrow on your friends card, but save up to buy the items you want. If you cannot repay the credit - you will need to resort to borrowing from somewhere else - leading to a debt spiral, or do something illegal which you did not want to do in the first place, or get the money from your parents again.

This is what I thought too but still wasnt happy for him getting a CC without his dads knowledge. Either way, I am pretty sure the path he is choosing isnt right.

Ok guys I'm sorry for posting something which looks unethical. I promise I won't ever post such topics again

So it seems you are under the impression that posting a thread about stealing money from parents account isnt welcome here? And stealing it without posting here is alright uhh?

If that wasnt the case, you would have posted, 'sorry guys, i wont buy iphone or transfer money without letting parents know', isnt it?

Is your age less than 15 years btw? And what are u gonna do with iphone other than showoff? And if u still want iphone, better get refurbished or used one from olx etc. (Dont forget to learn how to check whether phone is perfectly working and seller is authorized to sell it, like whether he is the owner etc.

Are you trolling? "hostel fee" is not an income, it is outgo. You can't apply for a credit card without a legitimate income source or a security like an FD that is in your name (and derived from a legitimate source).

@OP, what happened to your lost iPhone?
https://techenclave.com/community/threads/stolen-iphone-7-32-gb.183383/

After all those frustrations, you gonna buy iPhone again?
Gone forever. It was probably used for spare parts as I lodged a FIR with IMEI on it, and it still hasn't been recovered and probably never will. My parents know that I transfer funds without asking them as I have taken the password with their permission. I was also scolded when I lost the old iPhone. So it's not "stealing". I don't have any friends in college anyway, so please don't spread negativity in this thread. I come home depressed from college anyway :(

ROFL! This thread made my day...had a hell of a laugh.
Dont dream for credit card unless you know its circumstances. Its no ways an easy money. And I can see you are some teeny hi schooler. Dont come under any peer pressure for such useless showoffs which hardly last for a year or two. Once you mature you will automatically come down to some 15-20k phone unless you get a high paid salary or if still you are one of those splurging kid.
And your intentions of withdrawing money from dads bank is counted as a crime.

Credit amount anyways have to be replayed in 45 days or to be converted into emi with interest rates so anyways your iphone gonna be too costly in both situations.
