Can I get Laptop OS to work On Desktop PC

Hello everyone,

This will seem as a noobish question since it is one, my laptop died some time back.

I was wondering if i could take the laptop hdd and plug it in desktop pc. Will it run the os installed in my laptop hdd? Or it will be just like an extra hdd added to the desktop.

The thing is i have everything setup on the laptop and i dont wanna do it again.

I know i should have made a clone of it while it was working but that's not an option anymore is it.

Someone please guide me if this can be done or not and if possible, in what way.
 
Yep it will run the OS installed on your lappy HDD :)
All you will have to do is to install the drivers of your desktop mobo.
 
Well as far as I know, laptops pre bundled with OS...are tied with Mother Board serial number...since you would be using PC's mother board instead of Laptop's...I don't think it will work...
