Can I improve my PS2 picture quality?

Hi

I have been playing my PS2 on a KVXF21M80 (old I know!). Now, the picture quality is really bad. There are flickers on all games. None of the games look smooth, and the picture looks very jaggy. ATM, I am using the A/V cable that came with the PS2. Is there any way I can improve the quality of the picture?

i dont think soo cuz i have a BPL 29' TV which i got like 7 yrs back the TV is ok ok not that fancy its not even a flat screen but the best part is i get all the images smooth.
And yeah the PS2 image quality is crap when it comes down to HD tv i've seen it and its most crappy since there is a PS2 in my office and a HDTV in the gaming room it is totally crap
 
use a s-video cable and try to get a more recent tv if you can, avoid component cables as they cause colour bleeding.

s-video's the best bet for ps2.
