Guys I'm in deep trouble as my data collected in ten years time gone by my mistake. As I was selling one of my 2 TB drive to an another person so did I copied my data from that drive to an another drive but I don't know how I missed some three GB of very important data to me.

On that older drive there were three partitions first was active containing OS (WIN 7) other two were extended (logical). The data I missed was on third drive but before realizing my mistake I had deleted those two logical partitions and made them as one partition after that I formatted that new partition as well.

So can I recover my data somehow. Please guide me if there is a way.

Oh sorry for double thread MODs please delete one of them.

use software like r-studio ntfs/ stellar phoenix (find on the net, you will need to look for *ahem* versions). these should be able to help you recover almost all your missing data.

one very good freeware software is recuva.. just go to recuva.com.. download this software, scan the whole drive for whatever it is .. video, music, images. or u can also search for specific extension files by searching by typing *.ext.. .where ext is the extension or file format. .eg. .. *.xls for excel files, *.mp3, *.doc for word .and so on..

Did you do a full format or quick? If full then recovering those files may be tough. In any case I suggest you use Minitool PowerData Recovery. Its free and works really good. I was able to recover precious data from my USB drive after an accidental format :P. Another software which is quite good is PC Inspector File Recovery. It is also free and does a good job in recovering. But it is quite buggy.

*** Dont save the recovered data on the same HDD. Save it to a different HDD or removable drive. ***

Good luck.

The other day, my friend accidentally deleted one Excel file. He tried Recuva and a couple of other software. RecoverMyFiles and PandaRecovery found the file. PandaRecovery being free, he used it to recover the file. But I have not personally used it, so can't say anything about it.
