Can we have a GO for BIG TV ?

I inquired in the shops ...
Costs Rs 3990 all inclusive for the STB + 12 months subscription + some free movies etc .etc etc.
Rs2500 for STB+1month subscription

I forgot to ask ...but i think installation cost in included ?

The MAX+ pack i inquired for .. it includes all free + sports channels .. dealer told it comes around Rs 175

I am conducting inquires in my locality to find out how many would be interested ...
One of the dealers told me he will inquire and let me know by tomorrow on the discount.

BTW any1 here experienced the Image Quality / Sound Quality / Service ?
 
Its not possible as much I believe from my experiences.

Secondly, all quality features will be same unless there's any HD channel which I don't think there is, neither they are promoting that way.

They are just promoting Mpeg4 Technology, which only helps them as it compresses the space and allow them to put more channels than other mpeg2 providers (tatasky, dishtv).

I expect IPTV to be better than any DTH, but it would turn to be expensive.
 
i havent actually seen much of tatasky/dishtv, except for a couple of times at a friends place. so here is what i feel.

the picture quality is quite good. as i said, i havent seen much from other dth providers, but from what i have seen, i think bigtv is better. was definitely better than cable. mind you, the cable tv quality is very good at my house.

the first thing what i noticed when i switched from regular cable tv was the sound quality. it was so much better.
about the service, not much experience till now. but i hope it should be decent.

one thing i didnt like was the stb. the stb is very basic. i dont know if they are providing different stb models right now, but the one i have doesnt have much. only component out, a/v out, tv antenna in, rf out and a usb socket which i havent tried out yet. i was hoping it would have atleast 5.1 surround sound.
 
BIG TV ~= sun DTH (both mpeg4). big tv stb=poor quality while sun dth STB = homecast and coship models. :D my 2 cents.

sun dth will be soon available in north too. :)

here - Sun Direct DTH Service .I am subscribed to SUN DTH from last January onwards.satisfied.esp mpeg4 pic quality.it is sure better than mpeg2 ,whatever others say!:bleh:
 
let airtel DTH come to market , then BIG TV prices will go down as well as all other DTH.

Personally i have DISH TV it also cost me around rs3999 for everything for 12 month subscription.

Cant find how BIG TV is cheap.Of course it has MPEG4 ...lol .BIG TV owner will able to see HD channels before other DTH launch HD channels(but only 2-3 month delay).

cant find everyone is calling BIG TV has cheap rates.every DTH has various schemes at various prices.

But as it is said, nothing can really be flawless. Therefore there are some disadvantages with Big TV as well, albeit they are heavily outnumbered by the positive points, nevertheless, here they are:

* BIG TV STB has random problems. Possibly because I was trying it when it was still in Beta stages? However all the problems have since been reported and most likely would have been fixed by now.

* Channel navigation is slower, it takes a little more time to browse through them.

* BIG TV logo is quite big, although it would be corrected in future.

i am using big tv from 5 months and 7 days and let me tell u that the stb still hangs a lot,the picture quality varies if they increase the number of channels the pixelation increases,the quality i feel is better then tata sky but its certainly not dvd quality,and about HD the current STB is incapable of accepting HD and they dont have additional transponders in the sattelite for HD since hd takes lots of bandwith.
also most of the time the EPG doesnt show the information.

well there was more then a dozen firmware upgrades still no good results:@
