Can We Play PS2 Online in India ?

Hi Guys ,

<edited> my question is that can i play ps2 online in india? Iam having a 128 kbps broadband connection , i know that ps2 slim has a built in network adapter in it , but cant figure out that how to connect it to the pc ?<edited> plz guys help would be appreciated !also i dont have a dvd writer so plz dont ask me if i can make a backup of the game !

well my most important question is that how do u hookup ps2 slim with the comp and are there any patches or cracks or codes or watever required to play online ? Are there any indian servers online ? will my game lag on a 128 kbps connection ?:cool2:
 
@bluffmaster-I don't know abt the PS2 slim but I have the old PS2 and I had bought a network adapter where I also got the setup cd and some wires with it.U have to fix ur cable(the net connection) at the slots behind the console then run the setup cd(oh..I forgot one more thing,u also need a memory card so it can save the configuration and after it is finished,you are ready to frag online).But since this is a slim PS2,I have no idea abt it.:S

@friedclyde-only modified xboxes won't work online since they have a detection system and so they invented newer modchips where u can switch off ur mod operations during online play but ps2 online doesn't have such detection systems and my modded ps2 works fine online:hap5:

What?! You in india? Which city? which Isp?

About the detection system. Ps2 has that too. All online games released on ps2 after 2003 have a DNAS authorization, unique for each piece of a game, something very similiar to Serai numbers in PC games. Just like online servers in PC first check the serial, the same way servers for ps2 games check for that unique DNAS code. And this code was madethat way so it doesn't carry over to pirated copy's.

MOD EDIT : Please avoid talk abut piracy or how to bypass copy protection, its there for a reason :)

tried to go online but all i got was a connection timeout error. I connected everything right and ordered a new modem+rputer from Airtel just for this purpose. Though, all i got was timeous errors. I know one from mumbai who'm i met on gamespot forums, he too did everything and ended on timeouts.

So as of right now, there's no way for ps2 to go online in india.
 
well thanks anyways , sad that i cant go ps2 online , but hey iam having cs:condition zero <edited> on pc , how can i go online with it ?

Hint: Use a software that emulates a LAN over your internet...like Hamachi :)
 
Okay, i've cracked online. Now, on the latest games there are tons of security. I'm learning more on other underground *cough* message boards.

And i can confirm the Ps2 CAN go online in India!

but not without probs if you live pirated (exactly like the PC scenario, you know, Cracks don't go online mostly!) but fortunately, due to tthe simplicity of the ps2 there are ways to overcome that as well which i will not discuss on open here.

As long as you have a modchip where u can switch off ur mod operations during online play,yeah XBoxes can go online too.

like the mode where the green dashboard comes and no DVDs or games work
and r u talking abt xbox live or something else
