Other Can we purchase extended warranty directly from the manufacturer ?

Want to know if its really possible if there is any way to purchase or have an extended warranty directly from the phone manufacturer??

The way we used to do in those good old Nokia days....

Came upon this page where Sony gives option to extend warranties for their televisions.

So is there any such for our smartphones as well???

Sony only provides warranty extensions to Bravia (and, formerly Vaio) products.
No manufacturer provides warranty extensions on its phones. You can get those third-party insurance packages instead.

FYI/K Samsung does provides the extended warranty on their phones, Earlier Nokia was the only company who use to provide EW but now have no idea about them.

Yeah I heard that from some friend hence this thread. Samsung owners can get their warranties extended.
Sow as checking if this is possible with other common brands like Sony, Nokia, MS, Moto etc.
