hi,
i have joined few years ago but never really bought anything. whenever i have pc related issues i find a solution here almost.
but i found lot of interesting stuff to buy.
just wanted to confirm with site managers, if i can blindly trust anyone before making payment ?

there are sellers outside mumbai city hence.

I believe checking a user's 'Trading Rating' is a good place to decide whether you want to deal with them on the site. Other's do leave feedback on past deals with users so going through them will be of help. Also, a seller with good trading ratings and one who seamlessly communicates through PM's on the site or on texts should be safe.

Plus you would find a lot of sellers in the market section with no ratings at all. What you can do in that case is, as a precautionary step, check how active the user is on this forum and go through his/her past threads and posts to determine whether it would be worth dealing with the seller. Plus you can communicate through PMs to have written proofs if incase anything goes wrong.

This forum has a great market section and really helpful mods and admins (to help if a bad situation arises), so i would highly suggest buying and selling stuff on this forum. :)

I like to and I am not very frequent with site, but got some good old hardware apart from mobile phones etc.
Shifting soon to US.

If you're trying to sell, try to beware of some "unknown" (newbie, unrated) so-called buyers who immediately ask for your bank details to do online transfer etc.

I was trying to sell something and asked for cash-only transaction (my old speaker set) but a couple of new buyers were strangely insisting on online bank or paytm transfer - got suspicious so backed off from them. later after some chit chat with them on whatsapp - found out those couple of buyers were known to each other - one claiming to be from my town (Pune) and another from blore.

I'm not saying anything was wrong in their expectation to do online transfer - just i had a uneasy "gut feeling" that's all :-)

Now you can do UPI transfers without having to share the bank details. I really like the convenience of the BHIM app.

@Renegade Isn't is better to insist on doing NEFT/IMPS transfer as both people atleast know a vital information (bank branch and account no) regarding each other and can lodge a complaint incase something does go wrong!

Converting UPI to a physical bank account won't be that easy and cause delays in filing police complaints (if it does come to that).
I remember there being a member from Assam who continuously scammed members using different ID's. But later someone made the connection between various ID's as bank branches used by the ID's were quite close to each other and the modus operandi was also similar.

Does this even help? Do police even lodge complaints like these?
