I had a ASUS Xonar Essence ST and bought a Sony HT M5 which meant i could not get good sound via the ST because it has no daughter card and i could not find it anywhere in India. Earlier i had a Creative T20 speakers that sound great with the ST using the dual out analog's.
The SPDIF is worthless in ST since it offloaded everything to the Sony HT M5 to decode, forced to sell my card i am for now bit-streaming everything via Asus 7770 CF but it not all great, True HD is not supported by the M5 i have .
to use the 7770 to decode it to LPCM multich. This decreases the quality of sound and has compatibility issues with some disks.
So i want a card which can do LPCM 6-8 ch after decoding TrueHD DD/DTS Master on board do i have any choices?
BTW The Xonar HDAV1.3 was available for 13-14K locally a months ago.
EDIT: Adding my Sony HT M5 does not have analog ch jacks only HDMI can do LPCM mulich
