Hi guys,
i need to reinstall winxp and i have FC3 installed.
is there anyway to install XP without disturbing the linux installation...how do i enable dual boot after installing XP?

U'll need to reinstall GRUB after installing XP.

1) Install XP

2) Pop in the FC3 setup disk

3) Enter rescue mode

4) At the shell prompt, run "chroot /mnt/sysimage" and then "grub-install /dev/hda"

hey GRUB loader is slow (version 1.5 loaded from Ubuntu) , is there any faster boot loaders ? something like windows boot loader itself but supporting linux distros ..

Search google you will get lots of links to boot into linux using windows boot loader.

N what exactly do you mean by grub loader is slow.

thanks for the info Ein . ferrar i will try out your command line :D if it works , i will be :hap2: :) .

well it says "grub loading stage 1.5" then it takes 1-2 seconds for the list of options to come on the screen . i dont like this particular delay ...

I dont think I will be using more than one linux distros

as Ein said its the easiest way to do just reinstall the linux boot loadr that is grub since on installing xp by default it resets the MBR .. by hall32.dll and one more thing thers anotherway to do so is to use any 3rd party boot loader though i wont recommend that for newbies .. so just reinstall the GRUB after installing xp.put linux in extended partition and xp on primary makes thins easier..
