Cancel dell US order

I've placed two orders of which I would like to cancel one.. I tried chatting with support people and they said it's not possible now, and it would get shipped and I will have to go for RMA.

Anyone tried cancelling the dell order by some other means like refusing the delivery. How about the refund - straightforward in such cases?

Any helpful thought would be greatly appreciated.. :)
 
I wanted to get an item in different color and they told me the same thing - to RMA it and place a new order. I made another order and when I got the first one, I RMAed it.
