I had scheduled a WD RMA and now, after a Zero Fill with their Data Lifeguard tool, it seems the bad sector went away and the HDD is fine now.So, how can i cancel the RMA?

Email them..I am sure they will be more then happy to cancel the RMA & the pickup & advise you how to go about it.

ah, thanx mate....just saw this in their Help archive regarding How to Cancel an RMA:

If you have a Standard RMA:

* If you already shipped us your defective drive, we will NOT be able to return your defective drive under any circumstances. The best option is to accept the replacement drive we sent you. You will receive an email from us when the replacement drive has shipped.

* If you have not shipped us your defective drive, do not send it. You do not have to do anything. The RMA will be cancelled if we do not receive your defective drive.

OR, you can call 1800 11 93 93 (Toll Free) and tell them the same.

alternatively, WD sends you a mail once you create rma, reply to that mail about the same. that way WD wont expect a drive from you (drive is expected till up to 30days from creation of rma)
