D dipdude Forerunner Mar 27, 2006 #2 Check in your device manager, do you get a exclamation mark in Ports/Lpt1/Printer, if yes Then either install the driver from the cd that came with your printer, or d/l the driver from your mfgr's site.

A amitmk Contributor Mar 29, 2006 #7 i just took a proper win xp cd and installed it again. problem seems to have been sorted out. maybe those 2 files i had mentioned had caused the problem. Thanks for attempting to help.
