Cannot use my 250 GB Transcend external HDD with PS2 and SMS Player

I have modded PS2 and i use SMS player (booted from a CD) to play Divx/Xvid files from my 2GB USB stick. But additionally i have a 250 GB transcend storejet mobile external HDD which i want to use to watch movies from. But it seems the PS2 does not show up any information of the HDD. I enabled the HDD and USB still.

Is it because the HDD is formatted with NTFS partition ?

all harddisk are not compitible with ps2..check this link : PS2 Hard Drive Compatibility Chart.check in afterdawn forum..there are coupe guide how to do that..good luck

moreover USB's are useless on the ps2 models SCPH - 75001 onwards,

they are only used for some special things like the "eyetoy" and the "singstar Mics"

ps3 doesnt recognise NTFS so could be the same problem with PS2 as well.try an fat16or32 formatted drive once
