Camera Canon 510 HS at Rs.8k a decent buy?

Keep getting this email from Canon that Ixus 510 HS has been at a 'never before' price, i.e Rs.8000 odd. I don't quite follow P&S cameras, so no idea if it were much higher priced or not! So is it true, I mean it's price has been reduced recently?
I have a D5100, but always wanted a compact (hate the big size honestly of a SLR), so would I be right to get one of this cheapo?

Yep saw that. I do have a coupon, very mere though. But my question is, is there any better models available at that cheap price? I know they all have tiny sensors and all, still...wanna know if Canon creating a hype or not...
