Canon Ixus 100 vs Sony W270
LCD: Canon: 2.5 inch; Sony: 2.7 inch
Battery life: Canon: 210 shots; Sony: 330 shots
Wide angle: Canon: 33mm; Sony: 28mm
Video Recording: Canon: 8mins HD video on 2GB card; Sony: 40mins HD video on 2GB

Upto you to decide

ex: usually canons record in 640x480 and 5mp whereas sony would be 320x240 and 2 mp.
its not possible you could get 40 mins of hdvideo on a 2gb card without sacrificing quality.
Main Features.........
Movie Recording Mode (720p Fine) 1280 x 720, 30fps, Approx.9Mbps
Movie Recording Mode (720p Standard) 1280 x 720, 30fps, Approx.6Mbps
Movie Recording Mode (VGA) 640 x 480, 30fps, Approx.3Mbps
