Camera Canon SD850IS Digicam problem

My digicam is having some problems. While trying to take a pic i am unable to focus (auto focus) correctly (never get the green block and instead get a red one with an error sound). If i still click a pic then the image is very blurred and completely useless.

In technical terms what is this problem called?

Any place in Mumbai near Bandra where I can go and give it for repairs? Is it worth repairing in the first place? I mean with new cams around 6k i wouldn't wanna spend 2-3k getting this isusue sorted.

Does it happens always or seldom...?

If not often, does it generally happens when there is not plenty of ambient light?

If yes, there is no issue. It is common in lower end cameras to hunt for focus in low light

Check if the AF assist lamp option (if in camera) is on or not. if not, make it active.

`huh!! thats wired

Try resetting all the setting by reset option (or similar name)

If nothing happens, I am afraid something is wrong and needs a service center trip
