Can't connect 2 online game. Port Blocked. need help 2 get it opened

Hmm.. that was a looong title. I cant connect to Counter Strike: COndition Zero. I used to, but then my cable wallah installed a Firewall at the server end. I am on Sify "boardband" and the technician at Sify tells me he has "unblocked" the port (27015) at their end.

I have checked my own system and i dont have any firewalls running, nor have I blocked any ports. Since I am facing this problem only from the the firewall was installed at the server end, I am pretty sure that technician doesnt know much or what he was talking about. I dont understand the software tech lingo so I am here pleading for ur help.

Cud anyone tell me what I need to do (other than taking a hockey stick and beating him up) to get my job done? How cud I tell them (hopefully politely) what to do to get the port opened?

Use that after disabling ALL firewalls on your end. Make sure SP2 firewall is off.
Then see what it says when u enter the particular port number.
Is port 27015 the only one required? And is that port TCP only or UDP too? Can u basically post a link detailing which ports EXACTLY are REQUIRED to play CS:CZ?
Another scanner is http://www.auditmypc.com/freescan/selscan.asp?S=2060
which lets u check a whole number of ports in one go. Try for 25000 onwards. Then check for the necessary UDP ports too.

says u need some other ports too. As far as I know, Sify does not block UDP much. Anyway, forward that google link to your dumb CTO/Sify/Devil Incarnate.
