Can't connect to Xbox Live

I'm using the regular Beetel 110BX1 modem provide by Airtel & connecting my 360 directly from the Ethernet cable. Now whenever I try to connect to Live it says "A new update is available for Xbox Live, would you like to download it now" and if I select yes, it tries to download the update, but within a few seconds, pops up with an error saying "Update Failed, can't download update test your connection from Network settings"

When I try to test my connection from the Network settings, I fall back into the same loop of update failure. What's happening?

U need to open the 1394 port in that modem and check if the port is open using the Port checker tool .
Is it giving u an MTU errors for a port also....???

Got it fixed. I guess the default update which was in the system update which came in the console was at fault. I erased the whole thing from the memory unit & downloaded everything afresh & now I was able to log onto my Silver a/c. :hap2:
