can't install daemon tools or alcohol

installed Sony DRU810A dvd-rw on my system yesterday
and now i'm not able to install daemon tools or alcohol 120%

daemon tools restarts the system repeatedly on startup while trying to create virtual drives and alcohol 120% installs without support for drive emulation. :S

any idea as to y this is happening?? is it coz of the sony dvd-rw tat i installed or the prob lies somewhere else?
 
QF sorry to take ur thread.

I had installed Alcohol 120% later i installed Daemon Tools.
Later i uninstalled daemon tools
and then uninstalled alcohol.
Now when i am trying to install alcohol again its giving some error
25xxx amd says that some driver having the same name is installed
please uninstall.

Also i have re installed Daemon tools properly.
But alcohol is not installing.
 
quad, give the exact error number ? if your error is 25002 then soln is :
Then please start Regedit then go to HKey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services here you should fínd the Keys for the Alcohol Driver in the current Version 1.9.2.1705 a347bus and a347scsi,
You also need to delete these Keys and remove the corresponding files from Windows\System32\Drivers folder, reboot your Computer and reinstall it should now install without any problems.
Please note: in the version 1.9.2.1705 through1.9.5.2802 the Virtual Drive drivers will be a347bus and a347scsi in the Version 1.9.5.3105 Vax347b and Vax347s

Most games using starforce include sfclean.exe in their support folder.

One way to avoid all this interference with virtual drives is to disable all of them and create all new ones everytime I want to install anything.
Also disable nodes from starforce nightmare.
