can't interpret speed....

Hello....
I use Asianet cable modem srevice...
I did a speed test in speedtest.net and got the following result http://www.speedtest.net/result/1283000132.png

It showed .31 Mbps d/l speed and .24 mbps u/l speed.....
okay, now when i use u torrent, the max speed it shows is 60kBps....

now this .31 Mbps and 60kBps sounds contradictory to me.... how this teo speeds can be related?
also, i had a 2mbps broadband BSNL @ my home, it dis show a download speed of 150kBps in u torrent....
but both this .31 mbps and 2 mbps broadband gives me the same browsing speed....!
plz explain this also....

In browsing there are more than one text page to be displayed. There are many hyperlinks in a single page.
Those hyperlinks require maybe a separate or same connection.
So for a better browsing experience choose an isp which gives lower pings on speedtest.
