Storage Solutions Can't partition 500gb disk

I have installed a new 500gb hard disk
when i try to partition my disk i get a wizard
the wizard has the title "initialize and convert disk wizard"
the purpose of this wizard is to initialize new disks and convert empty basic disks into dynamic disks
my pc config is AMD Athlon 64 3200+, MSI RS480M2 and 1GB ram
I also have 2 more disks viz. 80gb and 160gb resp.
why can't i partition the 500gb into a basic disk?
 
Yes, you have to use that wizard to initialize the disk. Just be very careful NOT to tick the checkbox that says "convert this disk" (or something like that).

Once it is initialized, you can format it.
