I generally download some old torrents which have an average seeders which is enough for my bandwidth. Since it is a old torrent i cant seed much this implies low ratio which is obviously bad. Any tips to seed more??
 
DL freeleech packages, pick up some torrents with high leechers. That is the only way.
 
which tracker are you using?

how many seeders and leechers on that specific torrent?

what's the age of the torrent?

please answer the above :)
 
best for your connection would be sites like gft or scene-inspired, gft is ratio free and scene-inspired has 72 hours of seeding or 1:1, and they care more on the seeding time rather then u seeding 1:1.
 
torrents with high leechers is several GB generally. But in public trackers i can upload a single song for 1:30 ratio easily. Guess i'm stuck.

Hi,

My advise as a member of staff on a scene site would be as follows

1. make sure you are connectable, being connectable means make sure that your ports are forwarded correctly and are open.

2. make sure that you are seeding everything you have leeched to rules, some sites ask you to seed for 1:! or certain amount of hours. now if u cannot meet 1:1 atleast meet the criteria of hours to seed on.

3. some sites offer seed bonuses for seeding, if you have those, convert them to upload credit.

4. buy a box not really required if you canot afford one, but just an option

5. donate and get vip this will help you loads.

Just keep your client turned on after downloading, it will be taken care of in due time

its the easiest to survive on tracker

Nopes scene-inspired a very good tracker, they been beating likes of gft and revott in their pre-times, they have auto uploading bots and their staff does uploading too and they also do requests in shout. signups are open if you wish to join them.

they have changed seeding rules strating yesterday, they are now 1:1 or 24 hours

makes look a very good place, i have been there 5 years now and its awesome, good staff, good irc net to go chat and have fun and also very good dj's

p.S. I am not advertising for them just praising a good tracker

the thing is Pre-Times don't count for much, only content and retention does,

what difference does getting the same scene content a sec or two earlier make?

earlier trackers used to go by the breadth of their content and peerbase,

but now the newer trackers brag about who beat who and by how many seconds

Your tracker( you are staff there) has been around for more than 5 years(according to you) and still they can't maintain more than 2K torrents?

please don't mind me saying this but, i don't exactly understand your measuring Parameter for this tracker being "Very Good"

also you are saying that you are not advertising this tracker, but judging by your previous posts in the P2P subforum

this is exactly what you are doing.

i didn't mean to be rude, just presented some of my views and some facts out in the open
 
Pre-times only matter if you are uploader on other sites.

5 years just 2k torrents ?
 
In uTorrent go to Preference => Bittorrent => Uncheck all and Outgoing set to Forced. !!
