Car Audio System!!

Hi Guys

First of all, I'm hoping this is the most appropriate section to ask this question..If not, my apologies but I really didnt find any other section for this!!

My friend owns a Maruti Suzuki Alto & is looking for a CD/MP3 player for his car..
Presently his budget is limited to a max of Rs. 5K and is to be spent only on a good/decent player:( ..Speakers, Woofer, Amp etc (if any) can be added later on..Will have do with the default front speakers for now..

Pls pour in your suggestions..

With Rs.5000, you cant get anything special.

Forget, Amp, Woofers, etc. Totally.

All you can squeeze in is a Pioneer Deck, A low end model. Go to a Car Audio shop and find what suits your needs best, and at the most you can get 6"x9" Speakers, Pioneer, 3-Way Speaker.
 
well a pioneer mp3 car system costs around 8k and a dvd car system costs around 18k in Banaglore pioneer showroom.

Hey anyone heard about the sony xplod car audio system with a HDD??
 
the XploD GT 250S is about 5k(without bill i think )

IMO sony xplods arent the best choice... but for those on a budget, i doubt if there are many alternatives :(

I know that buddy..Pls re-read..The 5K is to be spent ONLY on the player..

Hmmm this is not exact thread where I can brag about my Car's Muzik system:P but I think basic Pioneer MP3/WMA players are there in that range.. if not 6K range sure will have one.

Since I myself have a Pioneer system in my car, I'd have preferred a PIONEER..But if the ebay prices are anything to go by, it seems unlikely that I'll be able to fit an a Pioneer under 5k..

XPlod might be the only way forward.. :(

Do not even consider a Sony... their car audio plain sucks. I've had a Sony high end CD/MP3 player, the freakin thing conked right after 1 year warranty and I could only sell it for junk. Most of my friends have Pioneer and they've not had any trouble, but I'd only recommend Alpine or Blaupunkt. If you can save a bit more, you can get an entry level Blaupunkt for about 8.5k which is way better than the Pioneers.
 
Get the Pioneer 3850 for less than 8k with B/W or around 5k in grey ... simply the best choice in that price range IMO.

Naah buddy..The guy's adamant about the max limit..can't take it from 5 to 8-ish..Thanx nonetheless..
Point about the Sony car-audio systems' quality..Acknowledged.. ;)

Hey thats a nice suggestion buddy..The lowest price for this particular model on ebay is 6K..Will check with some local dealers & haggle a bit..This might come in range..Without bill ofcourse.. ;)
 
i dont really car for sony car audio either.. stick to pio .. jvc seems to be kinda popular as well , seen a quite a few cab drivers with them
