Hi everyboy,
I have purchased a Hyundai i10. I am now in the market trying to select a decent stereo system. I need your advise in helping me make the right decision.

This is what I have formalized upon:

Stereo: Sony MEX - BT4150U http://www.sony.com.au/product/mex-bt4150u
Coaxial Speakers: JBL GT0949 http://www.jbl.com/estore/jbl/in/products/GTO949/GTO949_JBL_IN
Component Speakers: JBL GT0609C http://www.jbl.com/estore/jbl/us/products/GTO609C/GTO609C_JBL_US

Total Including Installation ( plank+wiring): 20K

Thank You,
Abhi

Sony is not much favoured by car audio enthusiasts.

Get a Pioneer/Kenwood/JVC. That one you mentioned cost 13K+. You can get a very good HU from Pio/Kenwood/JVC. JVC has some dual din HU with BT in 7-8K range.

Go to a dealer and try to listen to the JBL speakers. Many experts will suggest you to buy something like Infinity/focal components. They sound more neutral than JBL.

You can easily get a decent setup in 20K.

firstly forget the planks, setup the speakers on the door, if the sizes are 5inch plus for the speakers.

secondly as mentioned above, sony is a no no, get some components in the front, with tweets in the a pillars..
coaxials in the rear are fine.

try to fit in an amp in your budget say the following breakup

hu : 7-8k
compos front : 5-7k
rear coax ~ 4k
amp : 6-7k ( can be fitted later as well )

wiring and install 2k

Thank you for the responses guys.

To further explain, I am getting the HU for about 9k
The speakers combined for about 8k
The plans+wiring=3k

The planks have been advised by the installation guys if I want to rear mount the speakers( because of the weight of the speakers), ovals are not recommended to be installed on the doors. So I guess the planks have to stay.
The HU comes comes with a reasonably powerful (more powerful than conventional amps that come with HU), so an additional amp doesn't seem necessary to me. Atleast not on day#0. Maybe the Amp + Subs will be bolted later.

1. Do you know guys know of a better HU that -costs < 10k | supports Bluetooth, USB,Aux,CD | has an excellent app | packs a lot of punch ( read specs about eq etc) | powerful amp.
2. Any suggestions on the speakers chosen ?

Kenwood Exelons, Alipne , Blaupunkt Hu's (if still available) have good SQ compared to Pionner and Sony IMO.
Choosing components also depends on your taste in sound, like JBL speakers are quite bright so are Pioneer HU's so you may not like the sound of the combo

Also take a look at the ICE section on Team Bhp and Gearheads.in for tips
