Carpooling, Will it work in india?

Hey,
Just found this new site called {indimoto.com} it's the first such site i'v seen till now. Users can post their need for a carpool , and link online with other indimoto members to carpool together if the route matches!!

What do you guys think of such a newso called "concept" site??
 
People in India can hardly trust anyone... this is possibly the best way to get raped/mugged in a country like India. A year ago, a bunch of people in Pune were nearly killed, and one was killed in separate incidents relating to people taking lifts.
 
Yup and who exactly is going to post online about carpooling? More importantly, whos gonna actually respond!
 
Times are changing guys! , people are opening up to new concepts to help them save costs (Fuel Costs ). It's a harmless way of sharing transportation costs, and gettting to know your fellow carpoolers.

I feel the site is revolutionary and it is feasible for <18 peaple to be a part of the carpool movement to save fuel.:clap:
 
Did you not read my post? Don't you know how many girls are raped each year inside moving cars? I am not against carpooling, I only feel that it is best done woth people you know. The concept already exists on a small scale. A relative of mine used to travel back with some guy who had a van, and used to pay him the usual bus fare. She didn't know who he was, but it was OK because a lot of people used to travel with him (from her office and other places). But if you just randomly pick up a stranger online......
