Im planning to overclock my PC for the first time and thought that I shall have the sufficient cooling system before that. Well, not going to force on very high clock rates. So with considering the fans already present have I've decided to buy two 120mm fans as follows-
XIGMATEK XLF-F1253 with 4 White LED's
Thermaltake Silent Cat A2329
and ya, not just cooling, I want QUIET COOLING.....
I also want to serve the purpose of decent case modding so I've decided to buy Xigmatech. And the Thermaltake fan will go for HDDs at the front side of cabinet and will also intake air. Rest other fans will exhaust.
But here I face the dilemma of bearing type. On many sites incl wikipedia its said that sleeve bearing is oil based and can increase noise level when they get old. Ball bearing is considered more durable with Fluid Dynamic even more durable than that. Those fans I've chosen are sleeve bearing fans. But I also read somewhere that with proper care (i.e lubricating) maintains good durability for sleeve bearing fans.
And the life part-
Ball bearing 50000 hrs
Sleeve bearing 30000 hrs
I.e roughly 5.5 years VS 3.5 years
But nobody keeps any component for such long period in use and we quickly get bore of it and upgrade it. So even the 3.5 years (that too if run continuously right ?) isn't any bad for sleeve bearing fans...... what say ?
About the durability, can anyone suggest a good method ? I.e how frequently to lubricate and which lubricant is use ?
In general throw ur suggestions on how to maintain the quiet noise level (<20 dB), the durability and performance of Sleeve Bearing fans for about 3 and a half year..?
Thanks in advance.
