Guys, i am planning to get my bike serviced this weekend and this time i want to try the Castrol bike zone. They have some three types of services in different price points. Has anyone got their bike serviced here ? How is it ?

PS: I stay in Pune :)

you are riding to mumbai aint u ? :) and is this in prep for the ride ? i can vouch for service at a particular castrol bike zone service centers as i know all the mechs personally there.....but its not in Pune , so if u want u can get the bike serviced here in mumbai.....pm me if u need details for the same..

^^yes i will be traveling to Mumbai (refer my earlier thread :) )on my bike but you see, my bike hasn't been serviced for quiet a long time now and it has been long due and due to paucity of time wasnt able to do it...so now i have time and wanna do it...

other preparations apart from getting it serviced include topping up the fuel tank with Shell Petrol :):)

Btw i will be traveling after a couple of weeks...not immediately

okie then i guess pune members can pour in their suggestions......if still u would like to have ur bike serviced and feel like u are riding out of showroom u can hold it....

get the following things done locally ...

- change oil

- chain diesel washed and cleaned

- brakes adjusted / serviced

- clutch / accelerator cable checked and changed if needed

which bike btw ?

I've had my bike serviced at the Thube Park bike zone(near sancheti hospital) and I have to say they're pretty good. Friends got it serviced at the Kalyani Nagar and Mundhwa bikezones, and they're just as good.

Don't expect fantastic servicing or anything. But its better than the local mechs. Get the servicing packs, dont get any other small work there though. The servicing is well priced, the rest is too expensive. My full servicing is 320 regularly, but getting a handle straightened after a parking fall was 450 bucks, where as at the local mech it'll be 80 bucks. Kinda stupid. Otherwise its great. Have good tools at their disposal, so no hammering and brute forcing their way through stuff. mechs seem to know their stuff.

If you're the kind who doesn't know their bikes well, get ready to be handed a nice big bill. If you know your stuff, or just are curious enough to ask about everything they're going to do, they'll do a good job and a good price. I usually ask, but that one time I didn't ask about the handle straitening, I got screwed lol. But then, they fixed that well too. All in all, best mech you can get. Better than showrooms. Better than raju mechanic from the corner of the street.

I was in Castrol bike zone yesterday (Mundhwa, Pune). Didn't get my bike serviced, but when I checked their list as to what they do in each service, seemed pretty empty list. If this is what they do in service, I would recommend getting the same done by yourself by any mech. As long as it is just tightning and checking stuff like brakes and liners, it is not a rocket science.

However, they did solve my problem of tilted headlight which no mech was able to solve. So if you have a particular problem, then go.

^^also can anyone suggest me which oil to go for ?? I mean obviously they will put the Castrol Brand but which ?

Or should i drop the idea of getting the oil change from them and get it from the nearby shell petrol pump (of shell brand)

Castrol Active 4T FTW.....change it every 2500-3000 kms , nothing beats it......unless u have enuf cash to be spending on Castrol's Synthetic Oil which costs 750 buks a can...

I've tried the castrol syntehtic and its pretty nice.Better then then the regular stuff that we put. Right now I'm running the Petronus Synthetic which is half the price of the castrol synthetic. Seems just as good. Feels a bit off in the top end, but it could be psychological. You can take any oil to them and they'll put it in for you. I, so far, haven't been forced to use any particular brand for anything. They recommend, that's all.
