I just tried the X360 demo yesterday, after watching it gain a 9.0 rating from IGN and rave reviews by people who have played the full game. The demo was quite funny and intriguing. It's a combination of anime and video game. It would be tough to describe this game, so I would suggest you guys watch it's video review out here (NSFW):

Try the demo, as it's available for both, PS3 and 360.

Re: So, who has tried Catherine's demo? ;)

I played the demo before the game released. It was fun. The game play is err... unique.

Re: So, who has tried Catherine's demo? ;)

Yep. It's quite different, unlike anything I have ever played. Japs are weird. :P

Re: So, who has tried Catherine's demo? ;)

Its more like a indie. But move the blocks around and save yourself from the witch as far as I can figure. But its somewhat funny, no? I think they devs wanted to sell this based on the NFSW content :P

Re: So, who has tried Catherine's demo? ;)

It IS funny. Also, the puzzles are said to get quite complex once you keep progressing. The easy difficulty lets you undo your mistakes, but Normal and hard doesn't. Wonder how frustrating that would be? :P

What I enjoyed was the way it's storyline progressed through cutscenes. Pretty cool. :)

Will be starting the game once I'm done with ratchet and clank note to myself I have to start the game in easy difficulty

I had a thought of getting it but then just didn't take it :P Seems now ill get it ;) Read the review @ Gamespot

Catherine Discussion Thread

:cupidon:Catherine (キャサリン Kyasarin?) is a horror puzzle-platformer adventure game developed by Atlus Persona Team and published by Atlus for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is Atlus' first internally-developed game for seventh-generation consoles in high definition, and is described as an "adult-oriented" title by the game's character designer, Shigenori Soejima. The cinematic portion of the game is handled by Studio 4°C.

Players control a man named Vincent who begins having strange nightmares after his girlfriend, Katherine, begins to talk about marriage and commitment. This matter becomes more complicated for him when he meets a gorgeous girl named Catherine and the nightmares get more and more intense. The main story mode, Golden Playhouse, follows the story between Daytime and Nightmare scenarios. During the daytime, Vincent will converse with his friends as well as try to handle his relationships with Catherine and Katherine. Most of this time takes place in the Stray Sheep bar where Vincent can save and send text messages from his mobile phone, talk to customers, order drinks, play a minigame titled Rapunzel or listen to a jukebox containing tracks from other Atlus games such as the Persona series.

Gamespot Review

To add there are 8 different endings to the game and all of them unique to each other.I'm just about to start the final stage which would also end the game, have really loved the game I liked it better than Portal though comparison wont be correct(Its portal on steroids :ohyeah: )

Started this game yesterday and it's really engaging. Quite a unique approach adopted by the developers to present the storyline; a mix of anime and block puzzle gameplay. I'm always keen on completing the puzzles and then winding up in the bar, where all the talk starts off. It's like watching a anime, which you can actually control. My morality meter, so far, is balanced. I have been flirting with 'Catherine', while keeping 'Katherine' happy too (more or less). :D

Morality meter doesn't really matter till the last level that's what determines the outcome of the game. And yeah there would be lot of talking in the game.

Talking is what I find interesting. The conversations play out just like the ones in real life. Did you try any of the Rapunzel puzzles in your playthrough?

One more request, could you spoiler tag the box-art in your earlier post? My workplace isn't as forgiving as yours. :P

Done , none of the image host work at my work place :D only youtube works :ohyeah:

Currently on stage 7-4 and you were right Dinjo, stage 6 was a hair-ripping experience. The puzzles were so darn difficult and the climb became that much harder. Especially 6-3, that really did a number on me. I had to frequent YouTube guide for it. I wonder how these people come up with idea to 'Gold' these levels. But that game is so awesome, it really makes you think outside of the box and apply all those techniques you've learned (with the other sheep), put to good use.

Yes especially 6-3 is the most toughest stage of the game once i had completed it I got gold in 7-1 and 7-2.

I am getting this game in a few days. A blessed soul agreed to get them for me in IVG all the way from USoA :D

Late night gaming sessions...here I come ;)

Completed the game a few days back and it was fantastic. I got the "True Lover" ending. Stage 6-3 turned out to be the most frustrating level of the game. Apart from that, it was manageable. I must say, it was quite a refreshing experience.

Sarath, you're definitely in for a surprise.

I am on 7-1 right now. 6-3 was a breeze (got bronze). I was eagerly waiting for it after reading about it here.
<
Only level which I ended up getting frusturated was 5-3.
