SAPPHIRE CAME OUT with a very interesting card at CES, a version of the mid-range X1600Pro with HDMI. The card has two outs, VGA and HDMI, along with a really unique feature, sound.
Most people don't realise that HDMI supports sound transfer as well as video, it is a one cable fits all thing. There were a handful of graphics cards floating around the show, and as far as I saw, none put sound across the channel.
Sapphire added a SIL chip to the card to generate sound, and pumped it out across the link. Interesting, cool, and so far, quite unique.
