The Kickstarter project page of Chameleon Launcher for tablets reads,
This radically different launcher has just been updated to version 1.1. We tell you more about the same.
Chameleon Launcher for Android Tablets
Chameleon Launcher is specific to tablets only. What Chameleon aims to do is bring about a fresh new UI for Android tablets. The Chameleon team believes that all Android widgets are not created equally (receiving the same love and affection, and hence the same polish and finishing). Hence they took up to the task of creating a home screen replacement app which replaces all essential Android widgets on a tablet with ones far better crafted for the job (that's what they believe in).
Chameleon Launcher packs quite a few native widgets (native to the launcher):
Chameleon Changes with You
In addition, Chameleon launcher has more in built features that enable it to change with you, quite literally. Basically, using the GPS unit in your tablet Chameleon is aware of where you are (home or office) and accordingly changes the home screen theme (also changes due to time, say between morning and evening) to a more relevant one (with relevant widgets with respect to your office or your home, depending on where you are).
In the morning: The tablet displays morning news, weather forecasts, social feeds, your emails and your schedule.
At the office: The GPS automatically recognizes when you are at the office and accordingly changes the home screen layout to a more relevant one. Your Email Inbox, Calendar, Tasks and documents are displayed take priority in your home screen.
In the evening: In the evening when you're back home and relaxing, Chameleon automatically (after recognizing your home WiFi network) switches to display Movies, Music, Photos and Sharing, Social Media as well as your favorite apps.
What's new in Chameleon v1.1?
Chameleon Launcher version 1.1 brings quite a few new features to the table, all of which have been listed down.
The Chameleon Widget SDK is a very interesting tool. If there is a widget you want, and you have the knowledge to build it, then the Chameleon team gives you a way to do that.
Chameleon Launcher on Google Play Store
The only downside to this majestic launcher is that it costs a hefty $10 or Rs. 541. But to those who would really benefit from this launcher, the price tag is justified. You can find Chameleon Launcher on Play Store by following the link given below:
