Audio Cheap 2.1 Speaker suggestion

I need to buy a cheap 2.1 Speaker set for my laptop. Must be under 1.5k. I cant increase my budget. Will be used to listen to music only, no movies or games. Please suggest the best under 1.5k. :p

^Probably better than those Creative Inspire & SBS series.

EDIT: You sure your dealer had the 1221 as on the link specified and not the 1121? That pdf link for the specs though, seem to show the specs for the 1121. :\
 
I just checked the pdf file. Its the 1121. I am 100% sure i saw the 1221.

Here is the pic. It had a very compact box compared to other 2.1 and looked GREAT.

I got the Altec BXR1221 for a friend 2 weeks back for Rs 1150 in Chennai. We wanted to get the Altec BXR1121 but they said that it was out of stock and that it has been replaced by Altec 1121.

A quick review

+ Pros

The tiny subwoofer has a down firing woofer design and produces a good amout of bass but don't expect floor shaking bass. The bass is tight and clean and sounds well integrated with the satellite speakers. The sat speakers produce good mids and the highs are ok for a speaker which does not have tweeters. Overall the sound is pretty good and the output is clean even at high volume levels. The sound output should be enough for a bedroom but you might find the output a little low in bigger areas.

- Cons

- No bass or treble control is provided apart from the volume control.
- No Aux/Line in and Headphone connector

If you need bass/treble controls, aux/line in and headphone connector then go for the Altec 1121.
 
I think the lack of headphone connector in 1221 might be a deal breaker for me. Might go in for 1121... ok fellas? or the 1221 a lot better?
