Laptops Cheapest Laptop Available

Hi, I need some urgent help.

My brother has to "gift" someone a laptop [a netbook won't do, so at least a 14 inch screen with a dvd drive]. So which is the cheapest option available? The specs don't really matter. All it should be capable of running are office apps. Neither does the OS. Please give as many options as you can, as availability might be an issue.

Yep, the Samsung seems like a sweet deal. Just confused about the modem though. It states that there's no modem but an ethernet port is available. So does that mean that I can't plug the phone line directly into the laptop?

& anything cheaper in HCL or Zenith?

Use Broadband or TATA Photon type USB devices (56kbps Modem is Obsolete now)

Thanks for the response guys. Have been only able to find the Samsung R517 as the cheapest available in stores yet [here in Mumbai], for Rs. 25k. Still hunting for something cheaper while there's time.
