Hi,
My girlfriend needs a PC to do some gaming at her place.
I mean some gaming, she is not playing Crysis or anything major like that
and nor is she shooting for max FPS. Anyway to get to the point,
can someone suggest me a Mobo for her all that is needed is a PCI-E slot which will support a 4670HD to go along with a E7400. No need for any OC capabilities or anything fancy just onboard sound and should be rock stable as I don't want to be getting CUSTOMER SERVICE calls from her.Her budget for this is max 3K.
Thanks a lot.

ASUS P5K-PL VM/CM - 2.5k
Gigabyte G31-M-S2L - 2.4k
Best mobos in the price range and suffice all ur needs..sorry ur gf's needs..:ohyeah:

Gigabyte EG31M-S2L 2700Rs at chennai
(Energy Efficient Edition)
Normal Edition G31M-S2L (same specs) 400 bucks less than above one

Maybe you can get it for 2.5k:) At mumbai

Has everything you need PCI-ex, Onbaord realtek audio, onboard lan, sata 2:ohyeah:
And is proven overclocker board:hap2:

Thanks a lot guys...

Never built a system with Gigabyte so I rather take the :

ASUS P5K-PL VM/CM - 2.5k

Anything else I need to know about this one, or any other model before I make the decision.

Just one word...Go for it... No need to look back.. Its a rock-solid mobo and my brother is using this mobo w/o any issues till date..Rich in features and best bang-for-buck mobo... I say go for it..:cool2:

Sir, I think one can easily play crysis on medium setting on ATI HD 4670.:)

Up to 3K you have only G31 or P31 Mobo solutions as they support Dual Channel Memory.

No suggestion  WTH when it comes to girl friend you are looking for cheapest motherboard :@
Why not you help her getting GA-EP45-DQ6 with ATI4870 and Q9550 instead of poor cheap what ever board G31M-S2L.
Anyway G31M-S2L will be best possible cheapest board in budget

I recommend Asus P5KPL-CM or P5KPL-VM for 2.4k...from my experience Asus G31 mobos r better than Gigabyte models in performance and features

First person supporting ASUS G31 boards :hap2:
Plus point with ASUS P5KPL-CM board comes with 7.1 Channel audio chip(VIA VT1708B) with 6 audio ports.
