Windows Cheapest way to get Win Home Premium

Bought a new laptop which came with DOS OS , so I'm thinking about installing win 7 home premium. What is the cheapest way to get it . I want to update it and keep it updated .
Do I have to spend 7-8k on OS? I want 64-bit.

Why do you want to install Windows 7? Windows 10 will be coming soon, you should wait for it.

You can probably get an MSDN key for around $10-$20 if you look around.
