CPU/Mobo chip & motherboard warranty howto?

Hi all,
I still have 6 months warranty left on the processor & motherboard. Now as given in the post http://www.techenclave.com/forums/cpu-fan-not-running-68784.html the cpu fan is not working. So what should be my way forward. In case if it's just a fan replacement then would pay for it to the vendor or buy new from the market & ask him to fit it. How does the warranty stand on this thing? Could the chip also be damaged or just something to do with the fan. Looking for opinions,perspectives & experiences here. Thanx in advance.
 
I did ask the vendor the same & he replied in positive. The only thing with Intel-based chips seem to be that they get replaced in chennai while AMD chips in mumbai which is nearer. So the whole process will take atleast 2 weeks more boo hoo
 
Thanx IceFusion, went to the vendor today & have given the chip & the fan for replacement. The vendor says it would take around 10 days for the chip & fan to get back. Apparently it goes to chennai to be replaced unlike AMD who has an office in mumbai. As u're located in chennai there has to be an intel office there.Have repped u for u'r efforts. Thanx.
